Q: Do you cover servers and desktops?
A: Yes we cover servers, desktops, switches, routers, firewalls and
other network peripherals both remotely and onsite.
Q: Are your contract terms for 1 year or
longer?
A: No, our service agreements are month to month.
Q: What is meant by remote fix and
repair?
A: Patriot Network Services can remotely log onto your computer
(with your permission of course) and fix most problems with out you
having to pay for a dispatched engineer. When we monitor your
computers that is already part of the service.
Q: If I have your services do you come
on site at all?
A: Yes, we schedule regular onsite visits with our engineers to
physically check your onsite hardware. This is part of our
agreement. We also have traveling engineers who can be
dispatched in case we can not repair a problem remotely. That
is also included in our services with some exceptions which are
outlined in your service agreement.
Q: Does your Help Desk Phone service
personnel work directly for you?
A: No, we contract that service out because by using strategic
larger partners we can maintain a lower cost for the service.
However we only use a service that is USA based, uses certified
engineers and are monitored by our own in house engineers.
Since this service only provides services to assist our end users
with Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel, and other
problems such as email, it allows our engineers to focus on your
network and desk top hardware. All of our technical engineers
work for Patriot Network Services LLC.
Q: What is cloud computing?
A: The term cloud is used as a metaphor for the Internet,
based on the cloud drawing used to depict the Internet in computer
network diagrams as an abstraction of the underlying infrastructure
it represents. Typical cloud computing providers deliver common
business applications online which are accessed from a web browser,
while the software and data are stored on servers. In general,
cloud computing customers do not own the physical infrastructure.
Q: What is
the down side of cloud computing?
A: Although companies might be able to save on upfront capital
expenditures, they might not save much and might actually pay more
for operating expenses. In situations where the capital expense
would be relatively small, or where the organization has more
flexibility in their capital budget than their operating budget, the
cloud model might not make great fiscal sense. Other factors
impacting the scale of any potential cost savings include the
efficiency of a company’s data center as compared to the cloud
vendor’s, the company's existing operating costs, the level of
adoption of cloud computing, and the type of functionality being
hosted in the cloud
